I'm planning on purchasing a pre-owned car in the $15K range and I'd love to be able to use one of my 'Travel' C/cards' that has a large enough limit to cover the entire purchase (which I can pay off in full when the bill arrives).
I'd love to be able to add 15K miles on an airline card or $15K toward hotel points using one of my cards with a limit that's high enough to cover the entire purchase.(or even 1/2 on one card and 1/2 on another.)

ANYONE out there who has had ANY experience using a credit card to make a $LARGE$ purchase of any type?
I know the first issue that comes up will be the 2% fee they'll have to pay the Card Co. (but that's their problem)

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Welcome @brentskie -
I recently purchased a car from a nation-wide dealer and they had no restrictions on how much I could put on my card(s). I ended up putting $12K down on various cards and financing the rest. If I'd had enough saved up to pay for the whole car on my credit cards I'd absolutely have done that!

MidSouth Skier- Thanks much for you info.If you wouldn't mind, could I ask which nation -wide dealer it was?
Just maybe,It'll be a bit easier knowing that they've done it previously.I'm surprised that they never brought up the 'fee' issue.

    Thanks again for your help

I’ve put $10k or $12k down on my car using a credit card too. It was with Auto Nation as well. They didn’t have a problem with me doing that. They wanted the sale lol.

It varies by dealer I think. Some of the local dealers won't allow you to go over a certain limit but others will. Auto Nation seems like a good resource to keep in mind. I'd sign up for a few new cards and then use the payments to meet a bunch of minimum spends in one go--especially AmEx which seems to be more allergic to MS for bonuses.
