Have you all done a post on Travel Vouchers from the US carriers? I recently received an American Airlines voucher for giving up my seat and it's full of restrictions. I have to book 15 days out, have to book only at an airport ticket counter, etc. I was wondering if all airlines make it this difficult to use a voucher. Thanks

I’ve only had two experiences with AA paper vouchers. The first time, I went to the airport AAgent and made the flight reservation and the voucher was applied and I paid the difference on a credit card. The second time I had a flight reserved and paid for, went to the Admirals Club and the agent refunded my original flight cost, applied the voucher credit and charged my credit card the balance. Neither of these events were within a 15 day travel window. I have not heard of that restriction and that’s very troubling if true.

I have heard that AA will transition from paper to evouchers eventually. The AA inflight vouchers issued by the crew are always evouchers, redeemable online. Hopefully it happens soon.
